INTERMEDIATE HANDGUN CLASS
DESCRIPTION
This class is intended for intermediate to advanced students who already have experience and understand basic firearms safety & handling and shooting fundamentals. Students are responsible for bringing their own firearms, ammunition and equipment.
Intermediate Handgun instruction is conducted in a classroom and on the range. On the range a portion of the class will be out in front of the firing line and covers techniques of drawing from the holster, advanced handgun manipulation, and essential skills needed to effectively defend one’s self with a handgun.
***THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER CLASS!! To enter this course students MUST demonstrate proficiency in the following areas.
- Understanding of cardinal rules of gun safety
- Proper two-handed grip
- Ability to rack the slide of a full-size semi-automatic handgun
- Ability to lock the back manually using the slide stop
- Proper trigger-finger discipline
- Ability to fill magazines
Students who cannot demonstrate these basic skills should consider fundamentals training before booking this class
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
- A high quality handgun
- Injection molded/Kydex or leather OWB or IWB holster (no cloth or fabric holsters)
- NO BLACKHAWK SERPA HOLSTERS ARE PERMITTED
- At least 2 magazines
- At least one magazine pouch is recommended
- Sturdy belt if holster is designed to be fixed on belt
- 100 rounds of reliable factory ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
**These lessons are not equipment or armory services. They are APPLIED TRAINING sessions. All required equipment, holster and firearms should be fully operational and properly fitted to the shooter and weapon system. The instructor will not clean, fix or attach items to your weapon. Make sure optics and sights are properly attached and zeroed.
*Classes and private instruction are non-refundable. Students who wish to reschedule must notify training 24 hours in advance. No-shows and last minute cancellations will not receive credit for another class.
